2014
Here, a traditional form reminiscent of Orthodox churches and monasteries has been contemporized in ten imposing, intersecting domes, finished with matte gypsum plaster to accentuate their varying proportions. This dynamic surface not only creates a sense of depth and wonder, it also allows for playful experimentation with lighting and acoustics.

The pillars’ considered positions are intended to guide clients through the space, with movement and interaction directed by curiosity – inviting investigation of their contents from one to the next.

2015 - 2016
A dark ceiling references the orchard floor, complemented by sisal carpet in the same rich tone. Thin timber battens hang from the ceiling, forming walls that curve throughout the space like three trunks in a grove. Selected central battens are suspended with horizontal ‘branches’ fixed to the stems acting as product displays. Exposed walls are pink, reminiscent of the color of mace, the other spice harvested from the nutmeg fruit.
A connection with the nearby Aesop Raffles City is established through the use of brass in functional elements such as the sales counter and sink – the metal’s luster enhanced by overhead lighting.

2016
In harmony with the handsome pedestrian plaza in which the store is situated – host to a variety of markets and fairs – the design subtly blurs distinctions between interior and exterior, and effects subdued contrasts of materiality and form.
Blonde-hued, tiered shelving crafted from Douglas Fir curves around the walls to effect a crescent suggestive of an amphitheater beckoning audiences; embedded downlights from the ceiling mirrors its form.
This implicit extension of the plaza is amplified by a monolithic concrete sink; reminiscent of a fountain around which local might regularly gather. Conversely, an element of the interior is continued just beyond the stone façade, where two timber benches fitted with planter boxes invite visitors to sit and linger in the shade outside.

2017
An existing column is used as the starting point for the store’s layout. From this centralized column, 12 arches stretch towards the perimeter walls. This series of arches function as a key element in creating a sense of organizational hierarchy, establishing visual separators within the space.
The arches are clad in a clay based plaster with a subtle gradient color, ranging from a lighter base to a darker shade. Illumination from between the arches further emphasizes the gradient effect.

Snøhetta作为近几年的北欧建筑的领军事务所之一广受关注且优秀作品层出不穷,便不多赘述。但是今天的入手点则是之前 NENDO + Camper 一样的手段来看:一方面粗略了解Snøhetta的建筑观点和设计理念,另一方面看建筑与品牌是如何结合互助的。
不同于NENDO为Camper的设计,主要从店铺设计上迎合品牌主题和品牌理念,体现在近乎installation一般的interior intervention。而Snøhetta作为空间气氛渲染的大家,则从空间感受营造上体现品牌的理念。
在不同的地点,也是同样会选用不同的材质不同的色卡来表现不一样可能的Aesop。Aesop作为纯天然护肤品曾在多年前以清新小众的自然标签打入护肤界,近几年随着业务增长和知名度提高已经成为一个较为知名的品牌,也在全球各处生根发芽。所以从建筑语言上的体现:
奥斯陆的带有修道院元素的沉稳北欧(以水泥作为主要材料 / 砖刷漆提亮空间)Aesop
柏林的自然木色系Aesop(深色背景与木质纹理的对比 + 柜子的导向性引导人流)
新加坡的两家金光闪烁富贵版Aesop(以铜质材料 + 金色系吸引流量)
多塞尔多夫的清新浅色木系的Aesop(相比柏林的空间更为朴素简洁)
2017才落地的伦敦的砖色拱柱Aesop(胶合板加防水泥涂层形成薄拱扇)
总结来说,不同的Aesop都根据所在地不同而采用了不一样的材料和不一样的设计元素,但是相同的却是整洁的店面摆设,体验至上的洗手池作为必需元素以及店铺空间的整体感和纯粹感。
